Hey! My name is Adrienne, but most people call me A. On the internet, you’ll usually find me under addielouwhoo. I’m a millennial, a cisgender woman, and a librarian by trade. I was officially diagnosed with ADHD at 34 and lowkey self-diagnosed as autistic at about 14, but didn’t actually get rid of my internalized ableism about that until about 30. I’m a Swiftie, a crafter, a writer, and the mother of 2 perfect dogs. I’m weird and I’m cringe and “if I’m too much, then go find less.”
What even is this site??
Honestly, it’s mostly just a place for me to scream into the void, rather than screaming internally. Growing up as an undiagnosed neurodivergent girl in the 90s and 00s meant I started masking from a very young age. For me, that meant turning myself into a quiet, shy, anxious little nugget… except when I was alone. On my own, I could let loose and be as loud, obnoxious, arrogant, and wild as I wanted. And after 30 years of stuffing that all down and keeping it to myself, I’m just… done. So, now I have my own little corner of the internet, where I can let that mask go and share more of my authentic self with whoever is interested. Maybe that’s no one. Or maybe there are dozens of other little weirdos who want to yap and vibe and be free with me. I’ve got this domain until at least 2029, so let’s see how this goes 🙂
What exactly this becomes is yet to be seen, but here are some of things I’m planning on…
- Blog posts about whatever
- Craft projects
- Media reviews
- Special interest projects/deep dives/unhinged info dumps
- ???? other stuff I haven’t thought of yet
Let’s talk AI, because that’s probably a thing to do these days…
I’m not a fan of genAI for all the reasons you’re probably aware of, so anything creative on here will be 100% my own creation or commissioned/purchased from a human more skilled than me. There will probably be blog posts on here that you’ll think are AI written, but I promise it’s all just my autistic ass. The robots had to copy someone, so I assume they copied me specifically.
I do sometimes use AI (Claude) to do tasks that are too boring and tedious for my ADHD brain to handle, like transcribing text from old magazine scans into Excel spreadsheets for me. If I ever consult or use AI for any reason, I’ll mention that on the project page or in the blog post.
For the site in general, I had Claude brainstorm some titles for me, but ultimately came up with “Little Bit Unmasked” on my own (I’m bad at naming things, until someone else has an idea and then I know exactly what I don’t want to name it). The very basic logo was just made by me in Canva; I think the font and colors came from a template but I added the little circle of lines!!! Someday, I’ll pay an actual artist to make something cooler but for now, we get lines and text 🙂
